Steamed Turkey Drum-let

Gook cooking Image

Slow cooking allows a constant supply of moisture and seasoning through any sort of meats you have decided to cook. By choosing turkey meat and this method, it allows the turkey drum-let to stay juicy and tender. The advantage of this method, it doesn't allow the liquid to evaporate quickly as would in a conventional oven.

To begin we collected our ingredients shown in the list below:

1 Turkey drum-let
2 carrots
2 tbsp mild curry powder
2 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tbs dried herbs
1 medium onion
3 garlic cloves
1 tbsp olive oil
6 dried tomatoes
1 handful fresh thyme
1.5 ltr water (warm)
Salt and pepper for seasoning
Lime and lemon for cleaning the drum-let

Begin by cleaning the drum-let with citrus water. Once cleaned pat dry and begin to season with salt, pepper, dried herbs, oil and smoked paprika.  Complete rub the entire drum-let ensuring it has been fully seasoned, covering and set aside.

Peel and cut the carrots into bite side pieces, cut the tomatoes, onions and garlic.

In a large pot place the onions, fresh thyme, turkey drum-let and all other ingredients into the pot. Pouring over lukewarm water and curry powder.  Cover and allow to slow cook for 2 - 3 hours.

Once completed serve and eat with any of your favourite sides.

What we served alongside our steamed turkey drum-let were a light black olive spinach salad and honey mustard cold pasta.
